Only a few days left to register for Bryan Peterson’s Vancouver lecture!

Professional photographer and best selling author Bryan Peterson will be in Vancouver on Sunday February 10th for an all day workshop guaranteed to jump start your creativity and passion for image making.

Here’s a preview of just some of the techniques and concepts that Bryan will be presenting:

Have you ever struggled with difficult exposure situations such as shooting against the light, silhouettes, backlighting, or sunlit snow?  Bryan literally wrote the book on understanding how to deal with these situations which are more often than not the raw material for many compelling images

Do you know how to maximize the impact of your subject by isolating it against a background using selective focus techniques?

Do you find yourself often asking the question, “What is there to shoot?”

Have you considered the endless possibilities around you to explore in everyday objects with your macro lens?

No macro lens?  Do you know how to inexpensively add macro capability to almost any lens?

Do you know the most common mistake photographers make when composing with a wide-angle lens?

Do you know how to set your camera to ensure the maximum sharpness possible from foreground to infinity?

Have you ever wondered how to create exciting motion filled “point-of-view” images like this?

How about knowing how to distill a potential image to its essence using the building blocks of visual design:  line, shape, form, pattern and colour?

Do you see the world around you as static?  Or do you look for opportunities to add a action and visual interest by implying motion?

How about energizing your images by looking for different and compelling points of view that many photographers would ignore?

If not, then join Bryan at the state-of-the-art Vancity Theatre at the Vancouver International Film Centre as he leads you through a day filled with inspiration, education, tips and ideas.

Based in part, and building upon Bryan's best selling books, Understanding Exposure, and Learning to See Creatively this lecture is for all photographers who want to take their work to the next level. Bryan will explore the elements of good visual design, and describe ways to immediately begin incorporating these ideas into your own images using examples of “good vs. bad” and “before / after” images.
